Help save the environment with 1143 H20 Peel-off Nail Polish

Cosmetics companies give beauty enthusiasts lots of eco-friendly options, particularly nail polish manufacturers who are 4-Free, 5-Free and vegan. Now the folks at 1143 H20 Nails are taking one giant step further with a water-soluble, peel-off nail polish. Water-soluble? Yes! I know what you’re thinking because it’s exactly what I was thinking when I first heard about this brand. You’re thinking, ‘if it comes off with water, what keeps my manicure intact while I’m in the shower?’ For all those details, you’ll have to talk to the chemists but I can tell you, it definitely stays on in the shower and peels off when you’re ready!
1143 H20 Nails introduces peel-off polish.
Available in 13 vibrant shades, 1143 H20 Nail Polish is breathable, fragrance-free and 100% vegan. It applies just like conventional polish but to remove it, all you need to do is soak your fingers in water, push your cuticles back and peel it off. No need for harsh polish removers that are notorious for drying out your nails.

My Experience
Applying the polish takes a bit of skill and a little extra care. Because 1143 H20 is water-based, the polish is thinner than other polishes and lacquers which is where your skill level comes into play. With a thinner polish it’s easy to get unwanted polish on your skin and it’s harder to create an artful cuticle circle. But once I got used to the consistency, I got the hang of it. I applied three coats versus my usual two coats of conventional polish in order to get the opacity and coverage that I like. 1143 H20 has great shine and lasts about as long as other polishes.

As promised, 1143 H20 peeled off easily without peeling off layers of my nail. I love the colors in the line and I’m really partial to the inky and super shiny Black Out. I also love the bottle design!

This is a great idea for clumsy people like me who mess up their polish within 5 minutes of leaving the salon! And the fact that it won't damage your nails sounds like a healthy thing.

Yes! Healthier beauty products with less chemicals is always a good idea!

This is great! I always paint my nails and then like 10 minutes later want it different. No more hassle with remover, bonus! cause that stuff is killer on my nails. I also like the less chemicals!

I love the idea of a peel off polish. The girls are always wanting to change their nail polish color and I wouldn't have to worry about using polish remover on them any more.

I definitely like the idea of water soluble nail polish. I am not really good at doing my own nails and from what you said I would be afraid to try it. Maybe if I bought a bottle and took it into a salon and let them do it?

I've been so put off nail polish lately (I don't think I've worn it in about 6 months) as I always have to touch it up so soon after it's applied!! I like the sound of this polish!

Funny, you knew exactly what I was thinking! It is amazing that it doesn't come off in the shower. Love this idea.

Great Idea, but I am not sure if I will be using it. My daughter has a nail salon, this would be great for her. I might look into for that purpose.

Whaa?? This is awesome! I love painting my nails but I can only imagine what toxins must be in the traditional stuff. I like that companies are starting to offer other alternatives I definitely need to try this!

I love this idea. I am really great with painting my nails with my left hand but fumble with the right. go figure.

Sounds interesting. I have a friend who polishes her nails everyday. I am definitely going to pass this on to her!

I would like to try it. It seems like it would be great for a mommy/me mani because there aren't many harsh chemicals in it.

This is so great! I love the black. My only problem is that I have a bad nail biting habit. I have never had nails. But when I see things like this I wish I did. I really need to stop, and soon.

  • Reply Julian B. Kiganda 10 June 2015 at 7:19 PM

I really like the idea, but have to say am skeptical of how well the polish will last in between "peelings." The think I love most is that it solves one of my biggest issues—removing the nail polish when it begins to chip. That peel-off feature is a great idea.
