Inspired: Variety’s Power of Women

Last week, Variety held it’s 5th Annual Power of Women luncheon honoring five powerhouse women who, through their clout and influence, help raise money and awareness for select causes and charities. This year’s honorees were Nicole Kidman, Amy Pascal, Amy Poehler, Charlize Theron and my celeb crush of the moment, Kerry Washington.

 

The women do work in a variety of areas including HIV/AIDS prevention, teen mentoring, women’s empowerment and my personal favorite, arts and humanities in education.…

It’s Still Summer!

It’s the day after Labor Day and conventional wisdom decries the end of summer with no more barbecues, beaches or white clothes. Well, I call BULL! It’s still summer! Summer won’t be over until September 21st and that gives me (and the rest of us) 2 1/2 more weeks to enjoy the season while it lasts!
