Peonies are back in season!

It’s May and peonies are finally back in season! I wait all year for this and every year I promise myself that I’ll buy new ones each week for as long as they’re in bloom but I inevitably manage to only make one purchase for the year. Well, not this year!! I got an early start and I’ve distributed them throughout my apartment for maximum ‘small moment’ effect. 

I’m starting out with six stems and I’m cautiously optimistic that they’ll all bloom in full. One of them already has, but four of the six remain tightly closed buds. Here’s hoping!
