Get Professionally Pampered Skin Without Leaving Home With MicrodermMD

|

OK lovelies, it’s skincare follow up time! A few weeks back, I shared my first impressions of the Trophy Skin MicrodermMD Microdermabrasion System and today, I have the follow-up results I promised as well as a video demonstration. I got a bunch of questions when I did a demo on my Instagram Stories so I decided to post a more permanent video here.

What Is MicrodermMD

In case you haven’t read my first impressions post on the MicrodermMD, I’ll give a brief overview of the system and its benefits here. MicrodermMD is an at-home, professional grade microdermabrasion system that quickly removes the dull surface skin cells that build up over time to reveal brighter, more youthful skin. The treatments diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, visible pores and scarring.  Used once or twice a week, you can expect to see results in about six weeks.

My Experience With Microdermabrasion

I’ve been using the MicrodermMD for about seven weeks. My skin is quite sensitive so for most weeks, I did a treatment once a week, bumping it up to two times per week on two occasions. After I got over my initial fear of gouging a hole in my face with the wand, I came to love doing the microdermabrasion treatments. It’s so easy to do and the machine, on automatic setting, walks you through the steps for a foolproof experience.

It only takes about five minutes to do your face, neck and decollete. In the video below, I show you exactly how easy it is to complete a treatment and I talk through the discoveries I’ve made while using the device. Definitely check it out.

My Skin’s Trouble Spots

Aside from removing dull, dry skin, my biggest areas of concern are uneven skin tone around my mouth and nose, dark spots on my cheeks and slightly enlarged pores around my nose.

Before & After MicrodermMD Microdermabrasion Treatments

The places I’ve seen the most improvement have been an overall brightening of my skin and an unexpected lightening of the discoloration around my mouth and on the bridge of my nose. I’ve also seen a slight improvement in the reduction of the enlarged pores around my nose. With continued use, I expect additional improvement in those areas because, of course, some skin issues take more time to resolve. I’m really excited to see the condition of my skin after another month or two.

  1. hi – your video tutorial is super helpful/thorough and so is this post. thank you for creating both! i was really excited to see a non-white skintone reviewing this and explaining the routine. your skin is pretty amazing before too. like i was watching the derm vid like “damn that’s good skincare and genetics.” Can i ask what your process was before prior to the micro derm tool reviewed here? And, if you’ve continued using this tool into the pandemic, how it’s it been?

Hey Shree! My skincare routine as it relates to exfoliation was using a physical or chemical exfoliator every 10 days or so. The microdermabrasion renders that mostly unnecessary but I still use them if I need to move fast. My favorites include Pixi Beauty Peel & Polish, Rodan and Fields Microdermabrasion Paste, and Murad Radiance Peel. The pandemic hasn’t really changed my habits except that maybe I have been paying a little less attention and my regularity fell off. But, I am slowly returning to a more regular routine and regimen. Thanks so much for watching and reading and engaging! It’s nice to know someone is actually paying attention. LOL!

  2. That’s so neat that you can do it at home. I guess I always think it’s a major procedure that you have to go to a doctor’s office. And looks like you’ve seen some great results!

  3. I love skincare and my favorite products are exfoliators and microdermabrasion! This looks like fun

    1. Patranila says:

It actually is. Sometimes I have to stop myself from doing it for too long.

  4. Such a great way to pamper yourself at home! I need to try this on my skin,

    April

  5. Oh, your skin looks super great!!! I definitely need to try that…it looks awesome!!

  6. I wasn’t aware of an at home microderma treatment. I think this is great and way more convenient for people. I enjoyed your video because it made it look really easy to do ourselves.

    1. Patranila says:

Trophy Skin was my introduction to at-home microdermabrasion and I was really scared to try it at first. But, I’m so glad I did. It’s really easy and the results over time are amazing!

  7. Wow, what progress! I haven’t seen much about these besides commercials and I never really trust the ones straight from the company because of course they are going to show crazy transformations. It’s great to read/see it from someone else as well!

    1. Patranila says:

It’s definitely a process and takes several months to see dramatic changes. I’m really looking forward to seeing where I am in another month or two.

  8. ??? Of course both your before and after photos are gorgeous! But, I can really tell the difference after the process. Your after picture has a ton of glow! I’d love to try this! These dark spots, ugh….

    1. Patranila says:

Thanks darling! Dark spots are the devil and I can’t wait to get rid of mine. I was so surprised with the progress on the discoloration on my nose and chin. #winning
