I made it through the other side! The McCarren Park 5K that is. After weeks of hard sporadic training, I ran the McCarren 5K with my bestie, Trip C, and it was both terrific and terrible! Terrific because it was over much faster than I thought it would be and terrible because it was a little disheartening to watch the pack pull so far ahead of me from the start.

Thanksgiving is a time for gratitude, family and feasting. I love spending time with my family during the holidays, some of whom I only see during this time of year. This month has been crazy busy. With NY Fashion Week, the unofficial holiday known as First Day of School and my determination to enjoy the last few days of summer, I feel as though I’ve had no time to just be. It’s fun but it’s exhausting.
To continue with the theme of the month, as you read this, I’m on my way to the Latinos in Tech Innovation and Social Media National Conference (LATISM13) where I’ll be attending some great seminars and events as well as serving as a volunteer.

I’m always amazed that in our hyper-connected world, so many of us still suffer from feelings of isolation. With three million ‘social’ networks, ubiquitous laptops, cell phones and tablets we’re more connected to each other than we’ve ever been in history yet on a disturbingly regular basis, I and my friends mention really craving face time. And no, not that Facetime provided by Apple!
