I STILL own and use my Android device daily. By 'switch' I mean transfer my main phone number to my iPhone 13 Pro and use it with increasing regularity.
HERE'S WHY
APPLE RELAXED ITS STRANGLEHOLD (SOMEWHAT)
I don't love companies that control every aspect of a user's experience. A loosened grip lets us choose some things for ourselves. Like, who wants Safari as a default browser? No one.
THE CAMERA CAUGHT UP
I lead a photo/video-heavy existence. And no matter what iPhone users think, Android has had better cameras, by far. For years. This is objective fact. Don't argue.
THE CAMERA CAUGHT UP
However, with the introduction of the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, iPhone has finally challenged my LG G8 that gives me DSLR-level, granular control over photos and videos.
NEXT UP: BATTERY LIFE
Apple finally figured out power capability, consumption, and distribution. I used to shake my head at my iPhone pals who couldn't dream of going a full day without charging their phones. Not so anymore. Good job!
ENHANCED USEABILITY
iPhone's wretched notification system was fixed sometime ago to allow grouping by app. (Thank God!)With the addition of homescreen widgets, iPhone is easier to organize and use.
STILL GORGEOUS
Apple has always made a beautiful device and that tradition continues. The 13 series is simply stunning and I do love a beautiful thing!
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT
There's lots to celebrate and enjoy with the latest release. Still, some things could use a good tweak.
UNWIELDY PHOTO MANAGEMENT
NOTIFICATIONS STILL NEED HELP
AN APP DRAWER (TRUST ME)
IN SUMMARY
I'm happy with my 'switch' and I continue to be hopeful that a day will come when I no longer need to live a double life. Hope springs eternal!
