A Little Fun Before The Storm

Sharing is caring!

It’s been a busy fall! So much so that I’ve had zero time to post and I’ve really missed you guys. So I thought I’d share a few photos from my trip to Dr. Davies Farm in Rockland County for some long-awaited apple picking. We (the Mister and I) made it in just under the wire, before the apple picking season ended and before Hurricane Sandy barreled through taking all the remaining apples with her.

Have you ever been apple picking? Or any kind of fruit picking? It’s a lot of fun and a great way to spend a day out of the city. Click here for a list of fruit-picking farms in your area!

Apple Picking at Dr. Davies Farm in Rockland County

The pole you have to use is a little unwieldy but after getting the hang of it, I wanted to get as many pretty (and yummy) apples as possible.

Is this the cutest apple ever? Yes it is!
I do, however, highly recommend getting the little wheelbarrow to haul your loot back to the car. Half a bushel of apples is really heavy!

There were also pumpkins, that I couldn’t climb on…

… but I tractor that I could.

A good time was had by all. And a few days later, there was PIE!!

The fruits of our labor. Homemade apple pie initialed just for me!
A little crispy around the edges but delicious nevertheless! The Mister added my initials lest you think I’m that much of a narcissist!
