Celebrity Girl Crush: Aisha Tyler
I started my Celebrity Girl Crush Series with the incomparable Sandra Oh. This month, I’m moving on to share one of my other long-time favorite celebs, the lovely Miss Aisha Tyler. She is the perfect combination of brains, beauty and effortless humor. What’s better than that? This woman does it ALL. From her recurring role on Friends as the brainy Charlie Wheeler who snags Joey right from under Rachel’s nose to her hosting Talk Soup on E! Entertainment TV and voicing Agent Lana Kane on FX’s Archer, Tyler is incredibly versatile.
She created and hosts the thoughtful and hilarious, award-winning podcast Girl on Guy which spawned her latest project, the New York Times bestseller, Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation. I already downloaded my Kindle copy thank you very much! All this while co-hosting CBS’s Emmy-winning daily chat fast The Talk, replacing Drew Carey as the host of Who’s Line is it Anyway and touring as a stand-up comedian.

And host them all she does! But that’s not all. Beyond her many day jobs in entertainment and her love of video games (Halo) and zombie lore (The Walking Dead), Aisha is a dedicated member of our citizenry. Armed with a degree in government and environmental policy from Dartmouth, she serves on the board of Planned Parenthood, acts as a spokesperson for the American Red Cross, consults for The Trust for Public Land’s Parks for People project, and she directed a film benefiting returning wounded warriors. She raises funds for Doctor’s Without Borders, The International Rescue Committee, and Futures Without Violence. I want to be her when I grow up! She is irreverent, charming and indefatigable.
And I mentioned that she’s funny too right? Love. HER!

Excellent choice, I love Aisha Tyler too. She kills it in Archer and really grew into her role in Whose Line as the season went on.
