Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or consumed by hurricane coverage) you know that Rihanna just launched her new beauty line, Fenty Beauty. What you may not know is that Fenty Beauty launched in an unprecedented 1,600 stores across 17 countries in one day with 40 foundation shades. What?! Available at Sephora and on the FentyBeauty website, Rihanna has created a complexion-focused collection with a mandate of inclusivity. Well!
Fenty Beauty Launches Globally
Inclusivity in beauty is a hot topic these days and any brand that comes through with 40 shades of foundation has my attention. I recently covered another 40 shade-foundation launch by an established beauty brand, so I’m amped to see how Ri Ri’s foundation performs.
With a promise of lightweight, buildable products, The Fenty Face is focused on softly filtered makeup with high-wattage glow and no shine. Who wouldn’t want that?
The line features 16 products including 40 shades of Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation; 1 universal Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer; 30 magnetic Match Stix Skinsticks, in both matte and shimmer finishes to contour, correct, conceal, highlight and blush; 6 cream-powder hybrid Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters for face and eyes; Invisimatte Blotting Powder and Paper; 1 universal lip gloss known as Gloss Bomb; and a variety of brushes.
As excited as I am about the Fenty Beauty launch, there is something missing. Lipstick! Traditionally, I am more of a gloss girl than a lipstick lover and I’m happy to see the one universal gloss in the collection, however, a good selection of lip colors would have rounded out this offering nicely.
The lack of lipstick aside, I’ll be rolling through Sephora today to see if I can get my hands on anything but I fear I will be met with more than one Sold Out notice as is often the case with super hot celebrity launches. Fingers crossed!
