Giving Heat the Cold Shoulder

Spring Summer Style Trends Cold Shoulders

It’s all about the shoulder this spring: off-the-shoulder, one shoulder, cold shoulders. Since it’s been a little too chilly in NYC to go completely off-the-shoulder, I’m easing my way in with an easier-to-wear cold shoulder top. Of course, girding against the breeze isn’t the only reason I’m liking this blouse. I also love the swing factor that adds to my sashay as I stroll along the boulevards.

Kidding of course, there are no boulevards in my town and I rarely sashay. I’m always running late and am frequently in a giant rush to get to a meeting or a casting or a Starbucks. Comfort is key but we shall not sacrifice style.

{Top: Bobeau cold shoulder tee (similar, on sale here and here) // Jeans: Elodie Instasculpt Boot c/o DL1961 // Shoes: BCBGeneration (old, similar here, here and here) // Bag: DKNY (really old, but cool alternatives here and here) // Accessories: watch and bracelet c/o Folli Follie, vintage ring and I love this one and this one // Beauty: OPI Just Lanai-ing Around & Koala Bear-y, Essie Big Spender}

I’m also thrilled to have discovered the engineered denim in these DL1961 jeans. I’m wearing a pair with their Instasculpt technology that’s designed to sculpt your thighs, butt and waist. Glory hallelujah, they work wonders! I love when my jeans give me that ‘pulled up’ effect. I feel like I can do fancy things when I wear them.

Here’s hoping warmer weather makes it way back to New York soon. And this time, maybe it will stay! Have a great weekend!

    I need Mother Nature to just go ahead and get on board. I miss the spring weather we should be having in the DC area. I’m coming to NYC in two weeks and damn it I need the sun.

    I like off the shoulder tops but they don’t work for me. I have shoulder blade insecurities which totally shouldn’t be a thing but it totally is. lol

    Cute top! I didn’t realize shoulder bearing tops were back in style. I used to have to many – I regret giving them away.

    Thanks Patranila. I think these shoulder showoff tops are the truth. They always make my cute cuter. I luv them! I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans. IDK if these would be the ones for me, but I definitely thank you for the suggestion. Nothing like a killer outfit and smile to turn some heads!

    I have been obsessing over off the shoulder tops lately! I used to be so insecure about showing them because I am very muscular (former gymnast) but lately have been embracing them! Great post, I really like the outfit!
